Amazon Vs. eBay

                                                              www.prosellertalk.com

I think about when eBay first became popular in 1995. People who began selling at that time were mostly hobbyist and collectors. As of today, top business such as Dick's Sporting Goods and Macy's sell through eBay. For me, when I look at eBay,  it still has the look of used products. Do not misunderstand, eBay is still a huge e-commerce with millions of users.
One of the main downfalls to eBay is anyone can sell on this platform which can lead to product misrepresentation, items may not be packed correctly
and delayed shipping. Unfortunately some sell fakes or knock- offs that are a big disappointment.
Upside to selling on eBay, the website is easy to maneuver to post products. Items will usually sell without marketing the product.

Amazon started in 1994 as an online bookstore that has grown into the largest e commerce business today. Amazon in comparison to eBay offers better marketing of product, such as design, bar codes and shipment. Amazon has a huge customer base and prompt customer support.
On the down side of selling on Amazon there are many sellers with the same product that varies in price.  Free shipping is set to certain amount.
As a seller, fees may reach 25 percent and if you use Fulfillment, there is a listing price but they will fill your product.
Depending on what products and how you want to market will help determine which platform to use.
Start off slow with competitive prices and research to meet the customer's needs.
