Thinking about this so much the past few days, there are too many of these incidents happening! I have no biased opinions, my mind is just blown.
First to all the families and loved ones who have been victims of these horrible shootings, I pray you may find some sort of peace.
After the recent events and the latest school shooting in Florida, I have seen many articles and Facebook posts wanting to blame someone for not acknowledging the issues or not knowing how to handle them.
When it comes right down to it, there is no cure for mental illness or when it comes to teenagers, putting your finger on the exact diagnosis. There are many different levels of mental illness, paranoid schizophrenia to what they refer to as development disorders, such as ADHD.
My heart pours for families who deal with children with these cases, trying to help them with medication or trying act as if there is not a problem because they want their child to be happy and normal.
Who do we blame? Is it the parents of these millennial who keep their heads down on their phones, who text the person sitting next to them instead of having a conversation. Are the parents caught up in their own world? Is it bullying or depression?
From what I have read, this young adult lost his only parent and posted graphic images and glorified other school shootings.
All I can think is, what do we do as a community, as a child, as a parent, as a teacher?
Hold your children close, listen to them, be active in their lives and if your child needs help, get them professional help.
